Trinity Thunder XC: A Season of Grit and Growth

Last month, Trinity’s Varsity Boys Cross Country team capped off an impressive season by competing at the OSAA State Championships in Eugene, finishing as the 7th fastest team in Oregon in the 1A/2A division. The team also earned Academic All-State honors, reflecting the same discipline and drive in the classroom that they showed on the course.

Coach Todd Miles shared with the team: “We’ve said there are only two days that matter. THIS day and THAT day. Everything we do THIS day prepares us for THAT day. THAT day finally arrived. The District Championships. I could not be more proud of how we all ran.”

Their path to State was not easy. At Districts, the boys finished 4th, just six points shy of 2nd place, one point out of 3rd, and one point ahead of 5th. In other words: every runner mattered. Every pass, every hill, every final push helped secure the wildcard spot to State.

A special congratulations goes to senior, Milo Salomone, who finished as the 17th fastest runner in Oregon and earned 3rd Team All-State.

Our Girls Varsity team also delivered a standout season. They took 1st place at the Rainier Invitational, and at Districts (on a notoriously slow, challenging course) seven runners hit personal records or season bests.

These athletes embodied what we hope to cultivate in every Trinity student: the freedom to work hard, be themselves, and explore their gifts and talents—day after day, mile after mile. We are incredibly proud of them and grateful for the coaches, families, and supporters who make opportunities like this possible.
