Spring 2020 Art Showcase

Fur and Feathers: Notice the depiction of texture in the seventh graders’ animal drawings.

Fruit and Veggies: Believe it or not, the eighth graders used only the primary colors and white to create these vibrant colored pencil drawings.

Hands and Faces: Each sketch is made up of hundreds of lines. The challenge for these eighth graders was to make these lines using only the primary colors. (Imitating the work of Lui Ferreyra.)

To warm up their skills in charcoal portraiture, the juniors copied a portrait by John Singer Sargent. Notice the reflections of light on the hair.

The juniors also created original work: either a self portrait or a portrait of a family member. These charcoal drawings are four times the size of their reference images!

Arts are not elective at Trinity Academy but form an essential part of every student’s education. Students take four years of studio art, five years of music, three years of drama and two years of art history.
